I am Francesca Ficorilli, also knows as “Frame25lab”.

I’m an Italian children book illustrator, based in Rome.

I’ve been surrounded by pencils and colors for as long as I can remember. This early passion for visual arts has shaped my entire artistic journey.

A childhood spent glued to the TV screen sparked a lifelong dream: to work in the animation industry. However, specialized animation schools didn't really exist in Italy back then, so I chose a traditional path and studied Fine Arts in high school. As fate would have it, right as I finished high school, Matinantimata Studio introduced their new animation master’s course. I jumped at the chance, earned my degree, and spent the next several years training and collaborating there as a professional.

During that same period, an incredible opportunity arose when one of my university professors invited me to join his team at Mekkanografici Associati. It was there that I mastered the intersection of illustration and graphic design, a powerful combination that deeply influenced my artistic perspective.

Driven by a constant desire for new artistic adventures, I furthered my studies with an advanced degree in Traditional Animation at Scuola di Comics in 2013. This milestone officially launched my freelance career as an animator and illustrator.

Ready to expand my horizons, in 2018 I took my career abroad. My distinct cartoon style and extensive illustrative knowledge caught the attention of Astound Illustration Agency; I joined their creative team that year and have been happily illustrating children’s books with them since.
